Thesis

The Settlement House Movement was a socialist movement with the goal of getting the poor and rich to live more similarly by building public settlement houses that provided daily necessities for those who couldn't afford them. However, millions were not able to benefit from these Settlement Houses because there just wasn't enough room. The Houses were very impactful and helpful for those who were able to use them but their overall impact on society was very small. For many of the people who could have benefitted from the houses, they were unsuccessful.
